Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game Characters

The launch roster has 12 playable fighters. Choose by the combat problem you want to solve, not popularity alone. Playstyle and difficulty labels below are launch-week community reads, not official ratings.

How many characters are in Avatar Legends?

Official publisher and storefront pages confirm a launch roster of 12 playable fighters, with three support-character choices available to shape each main fighter’s options. The cast draws from Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra, and the wider Avatar universe, covering water, earth, fire, air, and non-bending approaches. Official material establishes the roster size, Flow system, and support mechanic, but it does not publish beginner difficulty or strength tiers. The playstyle and learning-curve labels in the cards below are therefore player-facing launch-build guidance, not developer ratings. Avatar State Aang and Nightmare Korra occupy separate playable roster slots and are counted as distinct fighters here; some early material called the latter Avatar State Korra. The Year 1 Pass plans five additions; when they arrive, this page will preserve both the original “launch 12” count and a separate current-roster count. Official roster sources are linked below for independent verification.

Choose a main with three questions

  1. Do you want to chase or control space? Start with Zuko or Azula for pressure; look at Katara or Toph for control.
  2. How much execution do you enjoy? Pick Korra to understand the game first; explore Aang or Zaheer for movement-heavy mastery.
  3. Who still looks fun after ten losses? Long-term motivation usually matters more than a launch-week tier.

Avatar State versions are separate fighters

Avatar State Aang and Nightmare Korra occupy separate roster slots and should be treated as distinct fighters. Nightmare Korra is the released name; Avatar State Korra is retained only as an early alias. The Year 1 Pass plans five more; this guide will keep “launch 12” separate from the current roster as they arrive.
